At the center of the enchanting rolling hills, lived a young shepherd. His existence was essentially pure, and unsophisticated. His only responsibility was essentially to care for his herd of ewes.
Their low murmuring and the murmuring of the wind among the single tree on the mountaintop were his main associates. Day in day, watching over his wards inculcated in him a sense of tranquil contentment.

Narratives of wild beasts prowling on sheep had long been circulating in the village. So, the boy opted to used this fear and played a prank on the townsfolk.
One day he ran into the village shouting “Wolf! There is a wolf that has taken my sheep!” The scared villagers rushed up the hills for rescue but saw nothing threatening.
The boy chuckled at the dilemma on their faces. This prank persisted for a check here few days more. But, one morning, a real wolf actually come to prey the flock. The shepherd boy ran for aid shouting “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one responded.
Frustrated and alone, the boy struggled against the wolf but managed to rescue only few of his sheep. Heartbroken, he returned to the village only to be met with a reprimand on honesty and the results of crying wolf.
The story of this shepherd boy has been passed down generations as a mediaeval parable for teaching the value of honesty, the consequences of lying and the risks of false alarms. Moreover, it stresses how trust once broken, is difficult to reclaim. It's a story as appropriate today as it was in the past.
